Mark A. Hunt, the eldest of five children, comes from a working class family. From the time he was a young child, Mark’s family instilled in him the values of honesty, integrity, respect, and personal responsibility, as well as the honor of public service. He attended Lincoln Junior High School and Stonewall Jackson High School, where he was active in sports and excelled at academics, graduating in 1978. Mark obtained his B.A. from the University of Charleston in 1982 and an M.A. from Marshall University in 1984.

Thereafter, he worked as a Legislative Analyst for the West Virginia Office of Legislative Services for six years, prior to attending law school. Upon completion of his law degree at the District of Columbia School of Law in 1993, Mark served as Counsel to the West Virginia State Auditor before co-founding Hunt and Serreno in 1994. Mark now practices law under Mark A. Hunt & Associates.

Also in 1994, Mark was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing Charleston, where he served for ten years. As a legislator, Mark gained a reputation for, being tough on crime and supportive of educational initiatives. Mark is married to the former Tracy Conard and is the father of three children; Andrew (1998-1999), Mark (Jr) and Jackie. Mark’s main areas of legal practice are auto accidents, personal injury, defective products, and other civil litigation “plaintiff”.

Scott Caudill joined Mark A. Hunt & Associates in 2014; he is admitted to practice law in West Virginia’s state and local courts, as well as in the federal courts of the Southern District of West Virginia.

Although his current practice centers on personal injury claims, civil litigation, and criminal defense, Scott has more than 15 years of legal experience providing consultation and representation to individuals, businesses, and organizations in civil, criminal, and administrative matters.

Prior to joining Mark A. Hunt & Associates, Scott’s legal career spanned more than a decade of civil and criminal work, in both large firm and solo practitioner settings, and from both plaintiff and defense perspectives.

He has worked as a lobbyist and lawyer for a large insurance company, served as staff counsel to the West Virginia House of Delegates’ Committee on the Judiciary, and worked for a firm specializing in administering settlements in class action lawsuits.

Scott is a 2001 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law, and also holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the state’s flagship university.

He is a former newspaper editor, public relations practitioner, and whitewater rafting guide.

As a reporter and newscaster for more than 30 years, Tom was continually enticed by the work of attorneys in the courtroom. After working at television stations across the country, Tom signed up for the rigors of working on a law degree, then graduated from WVU law school in Morgantown.

He has worked almost exclusively in criminal courts as an attorney, also offering representation to DUI and Personal Injury clients.

The association between Tom and attorney/Delegate Mark Hunt revived an earlier relationship between the two that now seems like a natural at Mark A. Hunt & Associates. Personal Injury is the common denominator, and representation for Criminal defense and DUI is offered in courts throughout West Virginia.

Call Tom at 304-642-6160 or 304-344-1800 to schedule an appointment at the offices of Mark A. Hunt & Associates.

My calls were immediately answered or quickly returned — every time. The Mark Hunt staff worked tirelessly with the insurance carriers to get me and my daughter the best settlement possible. Without Mark Hunt, I don’t know what we would have done. I will be eternally grateful to the Hunt law firm for saving the day for us.
